Meet DBC speakers at ISE Smart Building Summit 2025

5 December 2024

The DBC are not official event partners of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) but a delegation of representatives from our members will be participating in their Smart Building Summit early next year in Barcelona (February 4, 2025). We have highlighted who will be participating, when and what they will be talking about below:

14:00: How to Operationalise Smart Buildings: Lessons Learned & Best Practices
Occupiers no longer just physically move into buildings, they also move in digitally. However, discrepancies in digital maturity among landlords, occupiers, and operators can lead to friction, inefficiency, and delayed adoption of smart building technologies. In this session, the panelists will explore common challenges across the smart building journey, highlighting best practices and actionable strategies to streamline digital integration and enhance operational success in smart buildings:

They will be joined by Katie Whipp from at re:sustain who participated in the round table earlier this year that was the catalyst for the formation of the DBC.

15:40: Digital Building Council: Redefining Master Systems Integration:
While some recent industry discussions question the value of appointing a proven Master System Integrator (MSI) to oversee digital building projects, others see the role being redefined and evolving in different directions. This discussion between those designing, commissioning and integrating smart technologies looks at the changing nature of the role, the challenges being faced, lessons learned and what’s on the horizon:

16:40: AI in practice: How the world’s smartest buildings are becoming even smarter:

There’s a lot of noise surrounding the use of AI and its impact. However, by breaking AI down to practical use cases to solve everyday problems, smart buildings are leading the charge in deployment. This session discusses how AI is revolutionising the game for the running and monitoring of buildings in the commercial real estate sector. From data analytics to building controls, bicycle tracking to catering, this talk explores why human problems must be at the core of AI product development:
