The DBC held its inaugural AGM yesterday where it agreed its constitution, which is the first step to formalising its not-for-profit legal structure and governance. The Steering Committee also voted for the following officers (see profiles below):
– Chair: Jess Costanzo, Commercial Director at Simmtronic
– Treasurer: Mike Hook, Owner Director at LMG (lmgiq.com)
– Secretary: Kevin Brownell CPP, Director at Nuxform
Jess had the following to say about becoming the first Chair of the DBC:
Absolutely thrilled and humbled to share that I’ve been voted Chair of the Digital Buildings Council (DBC). It’s an honour to be entrusted with this role, and I look forward to collaborating with the incredible member companies of the DBC to drive meaningful change in our industry.
In particular, I will be looking to use this appointment to help drive diversity in the industry and get tomorrow’s workforce to get excited about the awesome world of digital buildings. The DBC will be working to encourage our industry to be evermore diverse and inclusive – and we are dedicated to helping young professionals discover the fascinating opportunities within this space.
Thank you to everyone for your support and trust. Here’s to a future where our industry not only thrives but also leads in diversity and innovation.
Now that the DBC Steering Committee Officers have been voted for, Justin Kirby will stand down as interim chair but will continue as Executive Officer to run the day-to-day operations of the DBC. He will also continue the ongoing advocacy and promotion of the council he has been doing as part of helping with its setting up. Click on links to read profiles for Jess, Mike and Kevin. We will be announcing our key Working Groups soon and will explain how we plan to grow our Membership.
